Surprise Catfish
We got to Evelyn Hallman Pond and had the first line in the water around 11:30am. We ended up with four lines in the water, one with Little Smokies, one with raw shrimp and two with corn. As I cast the last line with corn and was placing it in the rod holder I felt the hard tug.
Why I’m no longer a fan of the palomar knot
To most anglers (and boy scouts) the palomar knot is one of the basic fishing knots. Fairly simple to tie and recommended even by fishing line manufacturers on their packaging. After this past week’s events I will not be using this knot any longer.
Kira’s First Fish…and a Goldfish?
We’ve been forever pursuing the elusive event where Kira catches a fish…anywhere. The poor girl has been fishing with me plenty of times for plenty of types of fish, and for some reason they never bite. Finally this morning was different.
Catfish Marathon
The Solunar data table said today and tomorrow would be excellent days, so my fuzzy little fishing buddy and I decided to try it out. We were not disappointed!
